what is great design?

The real difference is in the details and the relationships between things: color undertones, balance, scale, textures, furniture placement, function, and elements of surprise.

Knowing "color" means how to distinguish undertones and work with complex neutrals. It is about having a trained eye to see what others can't.

Great design doesn't have to be costly, it just has to be naviagted in a savvy way. The skill set of a great designer is in the ability to outsource and duplicate asthetics across different price points, without sacrificing quality or beauty.

"I believe that pretty counts, but pretty isn't enough.  Great design not only looks good, but it is smart, liveable and long lasting." LK
